Mike Dillon Band with Ryan Montbleau and Dreadnaught
21 & over
The oh so very powerful Mike Dillon Band returns to Portsmouth New Hampshire for a somewhat surprise visit. Ammunition is LOADED for this very special evening. Joining the Mike Dillon Band will be the highly respected Ryan Montbleau! Ryan will be performing with Mike Dillon Band preluded by a first time performance of the Mike Dillon-Ryan Montbleau Duo. If that wasn't wicked-pisser-awesome enough, local Prog-Rock overlords Dreadnaught will be opening the show!
Mike Dillon has been banging, hammering, delicately slapping and mostly destroying vibraphone in his own unique fashion. Coined as NOLA Punk Rock: this aggressive jazz-rock-psychedelic-punk fusion of sorts is certain to delight anyone to experience it! Together for merely 18 months, Mike brings a history of experience from 80's - Billygoat (Dallas/Austin), the Jesus Lizard, the Greyboy Allstars, Critters Buggin, the Black Frames, Les Claypool Band, Garage A Trois, Hairy Apes BMX, Secret Chiefs 3, Ani DiFranco, the Dead Kenny Gs and countless others. This current band comprissed of Adam Gertner of drums, Patrick McDevitt on bass and the amazing Carly Meyers on trombone; they play an song Mike has written for any band as well as more than 20 originals.
Ryan Montbleau: Most known in this area as the buttery smooth vocalist of his rocking R&B groove band has recently spent some time drenching himself in the sweet sweat of New Orleans... here, Ben Ellman (Galactic) had assembled a band of ringers – keyboard/B3 player Ivan Neville, French Quarter mainstay Anders Osborne on guitar, drummer Simon Lott, and the estimable George Porter Jr... What a magical combination! If Mike hadn't already know Ryan, this for sure would have brought them together. Mike and Ryan will perform a duo set, it may be the first as well as last time for this to happen!
Dreadnaught: Over the course of over 17 years, half a dozen albums, and more metric shifts than you can shake a stick at, the ever-evolving Dreadnaught has carved out a musical niche unlike any other. This is because, very simply, they're totally and utterly deranged.
The perpetually idiosyncratic Dreadnaught – bassist Bob Lord, drummer Rick Habib, and guitarist Justin Walton!
