Hailing from Newburyport, MA, Red Tail Hawk run the gamut from alternative and indie rock to pop, pulling in influences from just about every other genre they can along the way. What it all adds up to is a fun mix that’s all their own. You’ll hear echoes of Steely Dan, The Police, and Maroon 5 and you’ll be left smiling from ear to ear.
For a young band, OHMME has already built themselves quite a resume, singing with fellow Chicago household names like Jeff Tweedy, Chance The Rapper, and Vic Mensa. Yet, what they bring to the table for their songs is something decidedly their own. Between their tight vocal harmonies and guitar interplay, they constantly flirt with the line between straight-forward and experimental, creating something approachable but mysterious and unpredictable all at once.
Scotland-based Sacred Paws just put out their best album yet. Dark, personal lyrics hide under the sunny sheen of tightly wound pop-informed post-punk. Put them on in your car and unroll the windows— just don’t be surprised if you end up driving faster than you realize.
We lost local favorite Sidney Lindner (Torrez, The Hotel Alexis) to the West Coast for a spell, but now he's back with a new band and some exquisite, starry-eyed indie-americana.
Philly's answer to The Strokes roll through Portsmouth with a big guitar sound and urgent vocals that rival Wolf Parade and Modest Mouse. There's a reason this band of childhood friends was the talk of indie rock before they even graduated high school. Come hear for yourself.
Up and coming indie stars Wilsen are coming to town in support of their forthcoming record, Ruiner. Judging by the sound of the record's first single of the same title, expect a dazzlingly dreamy and ethereal world of gorgeous melodies as intimate as they are expansive.
Ian O’Neil has spent most of his adult life on the road, playing guitar in Titus Andronicus and then Deer Tick (currently). Road life takes its toll on your friendships, love life, and general well-being (both psychological and physical). O’Neil’s first-ever solo record, ‘Ten Years Of It’, intimately documents that journey and traces how it’s shaped the man he has become.
Indie-folk songwriter Joe Pug didn't take long to rise to the top of his scene. After coming out of the gates with deeply felt songs that immediately garnered heaps of attention and accolades, his electrifying shows saw him touring with the likes of Steve Earle, M. Ward, and Josh Ritter—not to mention show-stopping performances at Lollapolooza and Newport Folk Festival.
